About the event

Chapter 62 of the Experimental Aircraft Association is hosting its monthly Young Eagles Rally!

Thanks to the generosity of our local pilots, Children Ages 8-17 will have the opportunity to take flight in a small airplane completely free! A typical Young Eagles experience will feature a pre-flight safety briefing with a fully certificated FAA-pilot, followed by a 20-40 minute flight. During these flights, flyers will get to listen in to Air Traffic Control, see a bird's eye view of the beautiful Bay Area, and hear pilots give an introduction on what it takes to fly a real airplane. Some lucky folks may even have the chance to take the controls and fly their airplane! All flights will land back at Reid Hillview, where particpants will receive a Certificate signifying the completion of the Young Eagle's flight!

Alongside these flights, EAA62 additionally invites vendors to attend and give information to guests as they wait for their turn to fly! In the past, we have had booths from the Civil Air Patrol, Hera Schools, and EAA 62's Robotics Engineering Clubs. If we have any special guests for these events, we will be sure to post them to the unique date!

We have been seeing an incredibly high demand for these flights, with May's Young Eagle Rally hosting 166 kids! Make sure you pre-register to get a better idea of when you have the chance to fly on a specific day. You can do so at the following link:

Walk-Ins are accepted but those who have pre-registered or were unable to fly at previous Rallies will receive priority. All flights are subject to availability and weather conditions. Any updates will be posted to the Event webpage on SaveReidHillview.org or posted to the "Save Reid Hillview" Social Media Pages (Instagram, Facebook).
